Guest JudgeMental
My Natwest Mastercard, out of habit have always used for fuel abroad. got statement through today and was surprised to see that over 6 fill ups the exchange rate was 1.20-1.21. Now during the same 8 day period in France we used the Nationwide card in supermarkets and for cash withdrawals the rate was 1.25 -.1.26 the exchange rate is bad enough with out this kind of blatant profiteering......so I called them for an explanation, all I got was "rates are fixed - nothing we can do" So after 20 odd years as a customer I have told them, this is not good enough and they can stick their card where the Sun don't shine. Applying for Nationwide credit card as well *-)
twooks
we used 2 Visa credit cards recently - the one from Nationwide was consistently better B-)
Caroline
Nationwide Card every time as they do not charge you for the use of it as the others do, am also considering a current account for holiday money. Caroline
chas
Anyone NOT using a Nationwide credit/ debit card abroad, are helping other banks to continue to rob the unwary. Get them, you know it makes sense ! *-)
chas
Also in this country get a Asda Mastercard, and use at their petrol stations, and get your fuel 2p a litre cheaper. (lol)
JohnP
I have just received my statement for Saga visa for a French trip in May. The exchange rate varies from 1.2566 in mid May to 1.2709 at the end May. No commission charged either.
