janmac
In my search for a left hand drive vehicle I have come across a few VW California's for sale. Although I'm not a new motorhomer this will be my first purchase. It will be my only vehicle therefore has to be of modest proportions. I would be grateful of all opinions and advice before I spend an awful lot of my hard earned cash. :-S
Derek Uzzell
There's a review on: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/EDITORIAL/CARS/FEATURES/VOLKSWAGEN/36876.html and MMM magazine published a comprehensive test-report on the California beginning on page 134 of the August 2006 issue (reprint available from MMM). moonshine
Hi there, I bought a 174ps auto Cali March 07, a great vehicle. Watchout for the road tax, not cheap like other MH's !! Take a look at these websites : http://www.vwcamper.de/ This site is easily the best for info about California's, use Google or similar to translate. http://www.mobile.de/cgi-bin/searchPublic.pl?new=1&bereich=womo&category=1400&sprache=1 This one gives you an idea of the prices of 2nd hand German lhd if you input makers name, model etc. Good luck with your search, this vehicle is I believe the only vehicle manufacturers own conversion. indigo
Have a look at the ford transit based Westfalia Nugget, I was going for a VW LHD but got one of these, use it to go to work in daily, the build quality is faultless and there are 5 belted seats and a wider bed than the VW. Loads of them available second-hand in Germany where they are very popular.
