Way2Go Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I went to Farnborough on Friday for the first time in almost 30 years of visiting airshows. I asked the guy on the gate where he wanted me to park my motorhome and he replied "Looking forward to the show?" I replied that I was and he then said "Well I'm about to make it even better for you." He added "Go right to the front of the parked cars and park against the fence." I was soon joined by another motorhome and we both exclaimed "What a view !!" There was a free shuttle bus taking people from the car park to the main area and it ran every 10-15 minutes or so. As if this wasn't smooth enough, I guy then approached me and said they were operating a courtesy car service and if I could wait just a few minutes he would drop me off anywhere on the airfield I wanted to go. I was soon joined by 'a suit' and off we went. "This will do fine" I said and got out to further enjoy the day.Anyway this is just a way of saying that I've got some more aviation pictures for you :-)

John H Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Great pictures Way2Go. I hope Andy isn't looking in because he might think you are going to pinch his job. How are you at climbing lots of hills and taking wonderful landscapes? :-D
Way2Go Posted July 21, 2008 Author Posted July 21, 2008 John H - 2008-07-20 9:47 PM Great pictures Way2Go. I hope Andy isn't looking in because he might think you are going to pinch his job. How are you at climbing lots of hills and taking wonderful landscapes? :-D I think you'll find Andy is far too busy trying to find reverse :-)As for being a threat to his landscapes . . . well, I attach a few of my own humble offerings so maybe we can see a couple of Andy's aviation photos ;-)Thank you all for your very kind comments . . . roll on retirement :-)
ohgrandma Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Absolutely beautiful landscapes, I would love to frame them and put them on my walls, too good to hide away, Also the planes were great, very well done. I see a lot of planes living here quite close to Boscombe down, But never in such detail as you have captured them. Thanks, Ria.
Tomo3090 Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Slightly off topic, but don't you think the RAF should spend a few bob on some new kit! Those aircraft look positively ancient. No wonder the Empires' gone! :-D And' I'm sure I've seen a tag axle Dethleff bigger than that Airbus thingy!
chas Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Stunning pictures, perhaps you could let us know the type of equipment used, for all us shutterbugs please. Regardless of cameras used, still stunning in flight aviation pictures. chas
Way2Go Posted July 21, 2008 Author Posted July 21, 2008 Thank you for your kind comments - much appreciated.I use a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body which is a few years old but I still love it. It's a 6.3 mega pixel camera and for the aviation stuff I usually use a Canon EF 100-400mm zoom lens and for landscapes and general photography I use a Canon EF 28-135mm zoom lens.W2G
