John.N
I have already posted this on the "Sites" forum but as this one has a much greater readership I'm repeating it here. Any recommendations for a motorhome site on the Isle of Skye please?

mco
Hello John.We have stayed on the camp sites at the end of Glen Brittle, basic but a lovely location. The one on the Loch Greshornish between Edinbane and Flashader. Can only use cassette empting point if you use green toilet fluid. The one by the ferry at Uig. The one a mile or so north of Portree on the A855. There are lots of wild camp spots that are nicely tucked away.
Peter Highe
There's a good site just south of Staffin, but of all those mentioned, I think Dunvegan is in the best position. Uig bay (is it open again?) can be very windy - I once spent the night in a force 9 gale - but handy for the ferry to the outer isles - I once went across the Minch in a force 9 gale too! Mr. Grumpy
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the camp site opposite the Sligachan Inn, this site is perfectly sited for anyone who wants to walk on either the Red or Black Cullin.
Peter Highe
following on from my earlier post, Uig bay is open: http://www.isbuc.co.uk/Business/UigBay.htm And who could forget Sligachan! Except it does get very busy with walkers/climbers. Does the hotel have the largest bar in Scotland? Peter
