Herri Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 My flat screen 12v TV set makes a humming noise when I am hooked up to 230v and when we turn the volume up. The place where I bought it suggested turning the volume on the tv down and the volume on receiver up. (or the other way around) This works up to a point and we use computer type auxiliary speakers which also give a better sound quality. Nevertheless this noise is irritating and I assume its interference from the mains Anyone got any ideas ? Thanks Herri
Dave Newell Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Sounmds like an earth loop thingmybob :-) . it could be coming in on the audio feed from the digibox, if you're using RCA cables rather thn scart you can get an earth loop isolator from Maplin that will cure it. D.
Herri Posted August 1, 2008 Author Posted August 1, 2008 Thanks, but what do I earth with what? I assume the digibox with the van chassis? Herri
