Badger110 Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Can anyone help me with this one please. I am the lucky owner of an Elddis Firestorm 150 on a Peugeot base which has a side habitation door located quite near to the front passenger door. I really wanted a zip privacy room to go with an awning and I was told that Fiamma were the only manufacturers of zip style awnings/privacy rooms. So we bought this kit only to find that for it to be located properly, the arms of the awning interfered with the top of the opening habitation door when positioning the awning low enough to fit the privacy room properly. So can anyone recommend the best awning/privacy room bundle for my type of motorhome, and dealer/fitter that is experienced in it to do me a good job! Thanks for taking the time to read and reply.
tezza Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Badger I have just had an Omnistor awning fitted to my Ace Napoli, my door is probably in the same place as yours. Brent, from Hillview awnings in Christchurch (great chap highly recommend this company) fitted my awning whilst I was on holiday two weeks ago, even came to the site I was on to fit it. He advised me that a privacy room would have to be specially made as (and not a lot of people know this, the awning arms will interfere with the door) as he put it if you purches an off the shelf kit. He said, if I decide to have a privacy room, to take it to his or any workshop that has a level floor and measure the height at the front and back of the awning when at the right height as not to interfere witht the door and send the measurements off to him. Omnistor would then manufacture a room to these sizes in about 6 weeks. I hope this helps, maybe Fiamma will offer the same service? On another note I believe Fiamma offer several sizes, med. large and Ex large, this refers to the height of the room, which size have you got? Tezza
Badger110 Posted August 3, 2008 Author Posted August 3, 2008 Hi Tezza, Thanks for your reply. I will make some enquiries with that company. I did try the extra large Fiamma one but still no luck ! Many thanks again I appreciate the contact. Regards, Badger.
