pavi Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Clubs with Exemption Certificates rallying in the UK must be in possession of Public Liability Insurance as laid down by English Nature (formerly Defra)and the Welsh and Scot equivalents. However, the position in respect of rallying abroad is not so clear. The C&CL do not have it for their Winter Sun Rallies. Their position is that sites have insurance as do the indiividual ralliers. Advice from the CC Legal Dept is that it is not required. If anyone has organised club rallies abroad, or has experience in this field I would be grateful for your views. Many Thanks Pavi
sandyatketton Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I've no experience of organising exempted rallies either in the UK or abroad but I'm rather curious as to why English Nature have a say in Public Liability Insurance requirements. Is the answer that it is on English Nature managed land? TIA
fred grant Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 rallies organised on proper campsiites are not excempted my biddies. just check your own house insurance with the public liability built in. that should be sufficient for the private person who may lay down the odd banana skin or two. f
pavi Posted August 9, 2008 Author Posted August 9, 2008 The requiiements were required by DEFRA this has now passed to English Nature, the Welsh Assembly and Scottish Assembly.
