I know this has been covered at length but I am unable to find it on a search.

Can some knowledgeable souls tell me if this is a one-off expense or an annual event please.

TIA

I assume you mean the Umwelt Plakette. This link might help http://www.umwelt-plakette.de/int_england.php. Its quite expensive to do it the offical way. I have heard of people contacting a local office and putting the cash in the envelope and getting one that way. Unfortunately I went the expensive route!

Searching the Motorhome Matters forum using "umwelt" (omitting the quotes) in the Keywords box and selecting "All posts" as the Date Limit will retrieve a fair amount of earlier stuff on this subject.

The link helpfully provided by Klyne is slightly wrong due to the sentence's final full-stop having crept in. This one's OK:

Derek,

It seems the forum search engine has conked out again - for me anway, so one can try my favourite search method from Google only, copy, paste and enter the following string ;-

umwelt site:http://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk

I had three returns on this fishing trip.

Terry:

This forum's Search facility seems to be 'load sensitive'. If you use it at some unearthly hour when there's likely to be minimal activity on the Warners system, then there's a sporting chance that broad-based 'All Posts' searches will work.

It's also possible to long-distance search successfully if one has an intimate knowledge of forum members' pet-interests. For example, I'm aware that Don Madge likes the umwelt subject, so searching for umwelt-related threads to which Don has contributed currently retrieves 3 previous entries.

While GOOGLE's Advanced Search capability is handy for website searching (eg. for looking at the MHF site if one is a non-subscriber), it's an unwieldy beast if you're not used to it.

It's sad that members of this forum should be reduced to having to exploit a 3rd-party's search engine because the forum's own search capability is so hit-and-miss these days.
