mike 202 Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Does anyone know a part number for headlamp protectors, from Ford or any other supplier ? Just seen the thread re travel abroad without beam benders and not fitting them direct to plastic headlights. Off to spain in sept. Thanks in anticipation Mike
chatterdog Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 your local ford dealership should be able to get them for you if you go into parts dept armed with nothing more than your reg number.
cronkle Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I got mine from Formula 4x4 in Staffordshire as Ford did not do them this time last year. However, the Formula 4x4 website does not show them any more but it might be worth while giving them a ring.
spospe Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Just come back from 9 weeks in Norway (lights on all the time) with the masks stuck to the standard covers and had no problems. The van is a MK7 Autosleeper Duetto. Our old van was a MK5 Duetto and that had the masks on for 7 years without any problem. If you need mask information, look at: http://uk.geocities.com/mk7transit@btinternet.com/ this is a small website that I have created for the MK7 headlamp masking details. Michael
mike 202 Posted August 13, 2008 Author Posted August 13, 2008 Will use the info to good effect many thanks to you all, and michael for the info on your site.
roger s Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I have been looking since March to no avail, f4x4, and Ford dealers both came up zero, but the Ford Dealer Stores guy did some asking around and the advice given that I could stick beam benders straight onto the headlight. My local accessory shop supplied these and commented that most headlight glasses were in fact now plastic
