Just a little snippet motorhomers,

Notice Aldi has a neat little 77ltr compressor fride for sale just now.

Numbers around £79, 0.55amps, 85amps, 240volts.

Looks neat, narrow at front, up to underside of worktop, white. Would look good in a Caravan/Motorhome and all for just £79.

Well, ok its not Gas or 12 volt powered. Sorry.

Interesting,

Gordon..

can't comment on this particular fridge - but I'm all in favour of compressor fridges.

find ours to be efficient and a perfect match for our style of camping [ie nowhere too hot n move on every couple of days] and doesn't require horrible holes in the side of the van !!

B-)

Hi,

One of the often quoted advantages of compressor fridges is not needing to vent the heat to the exterior. Have any users on the Forum had any issues with this making the interior too hot? the heat has to go somewhere and if it doesn't exit the 'van then it is acting as a pretty good heat pump to the interior, could be an advantage in cold conditions but on the other hand if the cooling fins were exposed to exterior temperatures it would be more efficient and consume less battery power and of course be quieter.

It would not be a good idea to fit this fridge into a motorhome. It is designed for static use in a domestic location and therefore the compressor and its associated pipework will not like the constant vibration and bouncing around in a motorhome. Also it will be a mains only fridge so you'd have to run it from an inverter, not a great idea long term.
