Miami Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Just received my copy of Out & About for September and a note was enclosed to say that October would be the last as the magazine was closing. I had noticed that it had got thinner since its inception but am sorry to see it go. It had lots of interesting places to visit. This was a bit different from the norm as it it didn't have so many reviews of caravans that all looked the same!Perhaps there are too many caravan magazines on the market. Can never find any in Tesco though.
maryowlgirl Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 OMG does that mean we are going to lose the Forum?

I shouldn't think so Mary but it is odd that no one else has picked this up. Should have thought an announcement would have been made somewhere on this forum.
Administrator Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Hi all. Here's a message from Out & About publisher, John Greenwood: "As the Publisher of the title, thank you for your kind words and I am pleased you enjoyed the content. Running niche publications is a difficult job at the best of times and, with the credit crunch, advertising and copy sales have all been more difficult to come by, and nobody was sadder than the staff when the decision to close the magazine was taken. You mention the touring content being different to other magazines and I can confirm the Out and About brand will continue through touring articles in both MMM, our best-selling motorhome magazine, and Go Caravan, our brand new caravan magazine that has exceeded its expectations with its first issue. You will be able to see this from April 2009 onwards. The forum will still exist, as will the Out & About Live website. Thanks for your feedback which is always welcome...."
