Brian Peters Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 hello all, im thinking of buying a honda goldwing trike to tow behind my motorhome, the problem is that i cant find a trailer to sit it on. does anyone know of a trailer company that makes trailers for this make of trike?, or perhaps a trailer manufacturer that could custom build one for me. thanks in advance. Brian.
terry1956 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Hi, I remember seeing a trike behind a motorhome last year, it was not on a trailer, just the front wheel was in a braket from the vans towbar, this just droped down to get the trike off, See if google calls up anything, if not have a talk with some trike builders, terry
Clive Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 A simple flat bed trailer and some ratchet straps will do the job. Three ramps pulled out from under the bed. The trike was based on a VW/Porche lump at the back. "Good for cruising the mountains" said the Dutchman. Ifor Williams among many others will make these.
Brian Peters Posted August 27, 2008 Author Posted August 27, 2008 thanks for info, i will find the trike dimensions and weight and source a flat bed trailer.
tonyishuk Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I have a feeling that Benderup (spl ??) makes / used to make a motor cycle trailer with three channels. I was searching to see if Benderup still made it and came up with this. http://www.motorcycle-trailers.co.uk/motorcycle_trailers_non_bike_Tow.htm What it does to the transmission I don't know, but could be plan B rgds
Mel E Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Brian, Be aware that just lifting the front wheel off the ground is only allowed for vehicle recovery in the UK and not for general towing. Go for the trailer! Mel E ====
