cookie
Does anyone know where I can obtain a template to mask off the headlights on our Sprinter. I have just ordered a pair of headlamp protectors and hope to be able to mask them for travelling in France. Any help would be appreciated. Clive
I parked our Sprinter in front of the garage doors at night with the lights on dip. I layed a towel over one light and furcled with a bit of cardboard until I found the bits of the lens that deflect light to the left. Then I stuck a triangle of adhesive backed aluminium to the spot. Repeat the excercise for the other side and BINGO. Took about 10 minutes.
Malcolm Moore
My local Merc dealer (in Sittingbourne) supplied me with a template for masking the lights and also sold me headlight protectors cheaper than I could get them on the net (about £40 I think). I was amazed!

Malcolm Moore
Sparshatts, Eurolink Trading estate, Sittingbourne, Kent ME10 3RN Tel: 08708353637 The Protectors cost me £33.98 inc VAT earlier this year (for a 2005 model) but the template may have come direct from Mercedes by Fax - I'm sure Sparshatts will sort you out OK
Derek Uzzell
An alternative might be the Eurolites product mentioned on page 232 of MMM October 2008. I've got a set for right-dipping headlights that provides details of where to fit the deflectors on 2003-onwards Sprinters (ie. those models with 'clear' headlights) and I'm sure the set marketed for left-dipping lights will provide similar information. cookie
Thanks for all your replies. I have a friend coming to France in October and I have passed them on to him and hope he will bring something with him. If not it will be Clives idea in the dark aiming at the garage wall. Archiesgrandad
I might be able to add to the confusion. Our 2001 Sprinter is left hand drive, so we have those sticky things permanently on to pass the UK MOT, and to drive in this country. I don't want to remove them when we go to France in case I can't get them right again, so what should I do? AGD
