mike 202 Posted October 11, 2008 Share Posted October 11, 2008 Hi, filled the fuel tank on my Mk7 Ford rearwheel drive until the pump clicked. got it home 2 miles and a small amount of diesel on the road. two days on the Bilbao ferry again small 6inch puddle on floor and a few drips on the tank. Appears that the fuel is leaking from the top of the tank. Drove 400 mile in spain, tank exterior dry and 28.5mpg. Filled up with 40L, to full would have been 55L. Tank dry on outside. I can only think that the vent pipe return to tha main filler tube has a small leak. Will take it to Ford when I get home but any ideas most welcome.
