Bilbao to Tortosa Mid Jan routes

Hi,

I plan to travel, for the first time, in Mid Jan 2009 from Bilbao to Tortosa Via Zaragosa and Morella (N232) and am cocerned with snow. Any thoughts and recommended routes appreciated

You will be unlucky to encounter snow Mike as the weather tends to be at its worse between Burgos and Madrid, due to high ground - but you never know with weather do you? If you do encounter any snow it's likely to be on the section before you turn East.

 

Don't worry on this score as the Spanish are on the ball when it comes to snow clearing so long as you stick to the major roads. A couple of years ago we were approaching Madrid and were suprised at the number of snowploughs parked at the roadside. As we camped up for the night and dusk fell a major snowfall occured. We had to dig ourselves out in the morning but the roads were open by lunchtime.
