roo
We are planning to replace our 18 year old Autohomes Camelot (on a Talbot Express) with something similar, and some of the conversions we liked at the NEC are on the Citroen Relay. Having read about the problems with Fiat and Peugeot, we are wondering if anyone has any experience of the Citroen as a base vehicle. We would plan to keep this van as long as the last, so are interested in reliability and quality of bodywork in addition to driving considerations. Mel B
Hi Roo - welcome to the nut house! Citroen Relay, Peogeot Boxer and Fiat Ducato ... the only difference really is in the badge! They are all built at the Sevel plant in Italy. There are some different engine options, eg Peogeot do a 2.2 whilst Fiat do a 2.3, not sure what Citroen do, but other than that they are basically identical. Any problems with Fiat and Peogeot therefore are also likely to affect some Citroens also.
Mr. Grumpy
Many Continental mh manufacturers sell the same van in GB based on a Fiat and in mainland Europe badged as Citroen, especially in France where Citroen is obviously more popular than Fiat. So (as been said before) no difference apart from some engines are exclusive to Peugeot/Citroen or Fiat.
AndyStothert
Don't do it for twelve months unless it's a 5 speed version - and if you get one (a 5 speed one) insist on testing it up a steep hill in reverse before taking delivery.
