chatterdog Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 On one of the other forums i go on someone has just posted the following . The dog went missing in the new forrest area and i know some of you live in/around that area. The greyhound is or was wearing a greyhound muzzle and although a searches have been made she has not yet been found. I couldnt get the image to open any bigger so briefly she is 4yrs old and is tagged and microchipped in her former name of Magic, she is speyed and is wearing a pink fabric collar and red muzzle that greyhounds wear (not because she is nasty) which is most worrying as she can neither eat or defend herself She went missing on Friday 24/10/08 whilst out walking in the Ashurst area of the New Forrest contact numbers are:Val on 07803050824, Lisa on 01782544728 and Liz on 07917422489. many thanks for looking - i hope she is found soon
CliveH Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 We will keep an eye out on our regular walks in the forest.
maggyd Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Oh poor thing I hope they soon find her she must be terrified. :-S
chatterdog Posted October 31, 2008 Author Posted October 31, 2008 Have just been informed via a forum site that she didnt survive and her body has been found. I do wish that some of these people that take racing greyhounds in realise that it takes a good 12mths bonding before it is relatively safe to let them off the leash. Ive had my chats nearly 3 years now and i would not 100% trust her off her leash, and somewhere like the new forrest has too many interesting things to find and sents to follow.
howie Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Sorry to hear that Maggie and was hoping for a happier outcome. Even the best trained dogs will go missing if the mood takes them and wearing a muzzle, this poor dog had no chance.
ohgrandma Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 That is such sad news. I hate to think how she must have suffered. They make such wonderful pets. in the right homes, too. Ria.
howie Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Hate it when I see or hear of things where pets get badly treated Ria and never mind treason or murder, I would cheerfully bring back hanging for anyone found guilty of cruelty to animals, although in this case it was just a case of poor judgement. Taking on the responsibilty of owning a pet is not something you take lightly, and if you are not prepared to give 100% to their care and upkeep then you should not even entertain the idea.
Hymer C 9. Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Maggie that is so sad, it is so upsetting when something avoidable like that happens, bet you gave your chats a few extra hugs. Carol.
