Replacing habitation window

Recommended Posts

My motorhome was vandalised and the passenger side habitation window smashed. I have managed to locate a replacement and wondered if anyone has any experience of removing and refitting same or is it a specialist job.

Any information would be most welcome. :'(

Hi, this is one of those occasions where there is insufficient information for anyone to attempt an answer, I believe!

What type of van, panel/coachbuilt/make?

What type of window, opening/ fixed/plastic/glass/ single/double glazed?

This would help anyone to make a suggestion or give a fully qualified answer.

Its ok people just needed to know what sort of window. Top hinged ones are the easiest to replace, normally. If it is a direct replacement, i.e. the same window, it is normally just disconect the stays by unscrewing them then open the window as far as you can and it will come out of the hinge. You then do the oposite to replace the new one in.

I have also seen one that had to have an end cap removed and the window slid to the side out of the hinge.
