afandy
Hi.....I have two leisure batteries fitted and want to charge them would it be safe to charge still connected up? this is for future reference really......Also after charging would it be Ok to remove both and leave off the vehicle over the Winter months....And still drive the vehicle with them removed for storage..obviously the conectors covered up for safety...would any harm be done? Rod_vw
I'm a little intrigued as to the reasons for your request however.... 1. I would think that the power system that is fitted as part of your camper is already equiped to charge the batteries so all that you should need to do to charge them is hook up the 240v and ensure that the charger portion of your power system is switched on. 2. Unless you suspect problems with the charging system when running the road they will be better left connected and topped up during what ever use you put the camper to during the winter months. Ranger
Hi Afandy, Get out your meter or hand book and check up on "what charges what". On my van the starter battery is only charged by the vans alternator, the leisure battery is only charged while on mains 'hook-up'.
