Speedferries Goes Bust.

I just heard that Speedferries, who've operated between Dover and Boulogne for the past 4 years, have today formally gone bust.

They were already in receivership for a while, but no buyer could be found by the Recivers.

I hope no-one had a trip pre-booked with them, as I guess all customer deposits/payments will be lost. :-(

I am beginning to see why others on here are unhappy with you... you seem to take vicarious satisfaction whilst delivering bad news.....

There is a thread already 2 down from this on same subject*-)

Apologies Eddie - I should have put my post updating members of the Speedferries situation, under that other thread heading.

Believe me, I'll be much happier to pass on good news with regard to Motorhomes etc as and when it happens.

Most bookings with this company will have been made by credit card so very few, if any, booking deposits will be lost. Sorry to be the bearer of good news.

No need to apologise! You are one of the good guys on here....

but as you live abroad you need to curb your entusiasm for delivering the goods lol as you well know capatilism is on shaky ground at the best of times and a lack of "confidence" can be all it takes to cause a run *-)

and you know what historically happened to the messenger :-D

No need to be sorry Rupert; that is indeed good news.We had a joust yesterday over in Chatterbox, but like you, I hope this news, whilst being absolutely terrible for the employees concerned, does not also affect anyone on the Forum who might have been booked to travel with Speedferries.
