Parking / overnighting at Lincoln?

Hi

The annual Lincoln Christmas market is on next week. I'd heard that motorcaravanners had used the northern park & ride in previous years. Information on overnighting though was a bit thin on the ground. So, I thought I'd ask City of Lincoln Tourism for the low-down on our larger vehicles. I should have known better because now I am really confused, they've sent me details of the coach parking arrangements, complete with instructions on the necessity to pre-book not only a space but also arrival and departure slots!

I'm hoping you guys know better ...???

Hi Neil;

The municipal site at Hartsholme Park opens especially for the xmas market but it will almost definately be chocka block booked by now.

If you're in the Caravan Club there is a CL at South Carlton, north of Lincoln called South Cliff Farm. 01522 730236. The relevance being that it is just behind the Park & Ride for the market, might be worth trying them.

I don't know whether the P&Ride will let you overnight or not but I very much doubt it.

I'd be delighted if i'm wrong about that though.

Pete

Thanks for letting me know about that Neill. My boat is currently moored just outside Lincoln. So we'll stay the night on that over the weekend. You could stay the night in our Marina car park as my guest if you wish. It is very secure with guards on duty 24/7. All you need is a means of getting in to Lincoln, about 5 Miles.

Let me know

We went to the Christmas market at Lincoln two years ago. Stayed at the Milestone CC affiliate site at Cromwell, just off the A1 near Newark. It was an easy drive from there to the P&R at the Lincolnshire Showground, where there was a special section for motorhomes.

If we ever go again I would probably do the same.
