Hopesy
Came back in sept. take your own.at least there wasn't any in the cheapest of the cheap cabins, steerage i think it was called. Can't remember if there was a socket even!!!
mike 202
travelled in early nov, in cheap cabin, There is a socket and we took our own travel kettle, bottled water, tea, milk and coffee and had to use a travel adapter. When you return to the ferry DO NOT leave the M-way signposted Bilbao, the ferry actually docks at Santurzi. Several people I have spoken to left the M-way to Bilbao, got lost in the town and had to get a taxi to guide them to the Ferry or miss it. Enjoy your trip Mike (lol)
peejay
Don't forget an adaptor for the euro plug in the cabin. Pete
chatterdog
take your own kettle and adapter, water, sugar/sweetners, coffee, tea and some milk and snacks. You can get extra milk in the resturant when you get your drinks, although i bought some vending packs from my localwholesaler so only needed water. We also took the travel dvd and discs with us. Just packed a couple of itemsof clothes/wash items in a holdall with the kettle and everything else we needed, to taketo the cabin

parkmoy
I travelled to Santander on Brittany ferries in the cheap cabins. To be honest there is no pleasure sitting in a windowless box and I was happy to pay for my cuppa up in the restaurant - comfy seats and a view included. Fine for sleeping in but hardly a place to lounge and relax in.
twooks
parkmoy - 2008-11-28 9:01 AM Fine for sleeping in but hardly a place to lounge and relax in. and an early morning cuppa in bed (lol) (lol) a good spot to 'hang out' during the day is the observation lounge, and you can picnic in there, well we did B-)

ALAN G
Try to avoid Friday night from Portsmouth...the Booze Cuisers are still very noisy at 2 am or was it 3...or 4.

ALAN G
Mel B :That was a very flippant comment on what I hoped would be helpful information to serious travellers. P&O sell "cruises" to non travellers, mostly younger people, who can drink all night on the trip south, have a few hours in Bilbao and return to Portsmouth on the Sunday evening crossing. There were a great number of them on our trip. And they disturbed us several times during the night. We came back mid week from Spain a few weeks later. That was a very quiet and pleasant trip with most of the passengers being genuine travellers. I am not averse to alcohol but rarely drink when I am going to drive. If Mel B considers that ferries are for boozing Motorcaravanners perhaps he should publish his van's registration number so that we can all avoid him. chatterdog
The last time we used the Pride of Bilbao there were a lot of booze cruisers on but it was very quiet - might of had something to do with the force 11 gales and with the ship plowing up and down and being held out at sea an extra 24hrs. I was quite supprised at how many people were on the ship when we finaly came into dock.Entertainment was provided in the form of people going to the information point and demanding that they be got off the ship immediately - Im not sure how they thought the crew would be able to do that as we were in the middle of the 'bay'. The return some weeks later was like crossing a mill pond though
