Tony Jones
We took one of our "short weekends" on Friday, to go to Bury St Ed's Christmas Fayre. With the help of Graham's website http://www.motorhomeparking.co.uk/ and some contact with the local council, we'd discovered that there's a car park right near the town centre ("Ram Meadow"), with 5 spaces set apart for motorhomes. Free overnight (just the one night though), and £1.80 all day (8-6)! Just round the corner on Angel Hill we found a lovely restaurant/wine bar called "The Decanter," and had an excellent, and very good value, meal on Friday night. On Saturday, the whole town was given over to the "Fayre," including a regular market area, a specifically Christmas one, and an area full of French stalls - food, clothing, etc etc. A couple of indoor venues were also full of gift and craft stalls. We made a big hole in our Christmas present list, without making TOO big a one in our bank account, and had a great time in the process.
