kelly58
I have just read on teletext about a 60+year old lady who was gived an £80 car park penalty fine because her valid ticket had fallen off her windscreen due to the damp glass after visiting the authorities regarding the fine she was told she would have to pay for failing to display the ticket , so she got the £80 in 1p coins in a wheelbarrow and dumped them in the council office . Fantastic..
J9withdogs
Good for her for making a stand however anything over 20p in 1p coins is strictly not legal tender, so the council could have refused it! A few years ago the same thing happened with my parking ticket, and a very nice man at the council asked me to send him the ticket to prove I'd actually paid and that was the last I heard of the matter. Times have changed unfortunately (unless Shropshire is still a nice place to be!!)
