In Portsmouth the sun is shinning. Been out doing some gardening, very nice. Maybe rain from Spain later? Why go to the expense of Spain ? stay in sunny south of England

Why go to the expense of Spain ? stay in sunny south of England

Raining in Valencia today. Just got back from a week in Eastbourne, it was cold and horrible. Rather be here, with the odd rainy day. It got to 22C on Saturday.

Here in our little village of Polop de la Marina on the Costa Blanca (about 8 miles north and 3 miles inland from Benidorm), it's been lovely and warm and sunny this morning (about 18 degrees ambient temperature, but feels warmer in the direct sunshine).

It's a national holiday here in Spain today (Constitution Day), so is very peaceful.

Yesterday the weather was just absolutely gorgeous.

Kathy and I went out for a spin on the motorbike up the coast to a rastro (a sort of cross between and car boot sale and a stall market), then lunch outdoors on the terrace of a cafe, then a winding route back home through the coastal mountains and villages. The scent of orange blossom as we passed the massed terraces of them was lovely.

But, clouds started to build here at lunchtime, and it's overcast now.

Local forecast is for rain showers later today and tomorrow. :-(

Well today on the Costa del Sol it,s 20+ blue skys and wall to wall sun same forecast for next few days.Looks like we will have to have our Xmas dinner in the open again on the terrace overlooking the lake at the local 5 star hotel £50 a head with wine and drinks etc.

Well someone has to do it.
