Randonneur
Hi Michele and a Happy New Year to everybody. As soon as I have got rid of this infection we are off, don't know where yet, might be by the sea. We love the Port at Mortagne Sur Girdonde and it is only 1.5hrs away so not too far to travel. David Dwight
Happy New Year Michele We are off in a few days to Slimbridge, to see the Wildfowl in thier winter colours. Then a few days away at a time until May/June then off to Lorraine for a Balloon Festival near Lac Madine, then down into the rest of France for a few weeks. Throughout the year we will be going with our little Caravan Club on various Rallys etc . Then a few weeks again end of summer. No major projects planned for the house this year. Oh I do have a few Craft Fairs booked. It must be getting near Christmas by now. David
Mel B
Booked a week off at the end of April so we can do the Peterborough show and make a holiday of it (using last year's holiday allowance up). Booked 3 weeks off work at end of June/early July for a good long trip - hubby fances Italy so that should be interested ... will have to learn some Italian words!!! Other than that, haven't a clue but we've still got 13 days to 'allocate' plus I've got over a week's lieu time to take as well, might consider Ireland again or might decide to go up to Scotland - haven't been for a few years and really enjoyed it last time we were there. Now if we definitely do retire early this year (even if we don't sell the bungalow we'll probably do so) then ... watch this space ... there'll be no stopping us!!! :->

howie
Only thing definate so far is a few weeks over in Ireland with my brother and sister in law in august. He,s a big John Wayne fan, so we plan to visit Cong in Galway to visit the locations of 'The Quiet Man'. Seems they still have the same pub and bar, guided tours, and even a Quiet Man campsite, so even though i,m not a film buff still looking forward to it, and they are good company and gives us the opportunity to tour the coast from Galway up to Lacken, a part of Ireland which will be new to us and hopefully a bit of fishing at Lough Corrib. Geof Angi
Happy New Year Michelle, and of course everyone else. May this year be filled with health and wealth for you all. No plans yet, bus laid up til March earliest as Angie and I still have some shows to do in Jan and Feb, but will be looking for the sun when we do get away, might have a week in the West Country around easter as I will need to visit Plymouth for my company around then, and then there is the annual visit to the Rhone in Sept but nothing for May/June/Julyish time yet. Mel B Was in Italy last year around the same time as you plan to be this, 11 at night and still 36c in Rome, but they did say it was the hottest year on records, not norm for that time of year. Went out through Austria, what scenary (whoop's, that don't look right, never mind) and had 4 days on lake Como (see attached piccy) on way down. A good trip and was worth the effort, hope you enjoy Geof
Geof Angi
Whoops, wrong order, but this was morning, sun begining to set and sunset. This was the view from our pitch, 50' straight down or 50 yards following the path. Below is a pic of the pass that we drove over as we entered Italy, well it looked the most direct route on the map, not sure now but some fantastic views, cant remember the name without looking at a map but it started with an S Geof

Guest Tracker
BGD - 2009-01-01 2:37 PM We've planned a couple of weeks over in Portugal at end of January. :-D What day do you plan to leave Bruce - was it something I said? We will be down your way about 30th January to 1st February depending on several variables so if you want the opportunity to avoid us now's yer big chance! Or we could possibly look in on our way back around 1st week in March - if we have time.
Rapido-lass
Originally hoping to go to Ireland and also Germany (our 2 x 2weeks holidays) plus weekends etc, but due to dedundancy holding off any definate plans ie booking ferry crossings. One way or another 'away we will be', even if I have to push the motorhome down the road!! The beauty with motorhoming, is that you can sort out where on the way there and cut your cloth accordingly. Part of the fun I think, is in the dreaming of where to go, the rest is split between actually exploring where-ever and reminising on all the roadtrips taken. I certainly wish I was there!!!! Geof Angi
Keiyh Yes that's the one, the bus plus trailer all the way to the top and only one stop for some piccy's of the view. Slow slog, 2nd and 3rd gear most of the way, 1st if having to stop to let someone exit a corner, but well worth the effort. There was a time trial on the day we went up with cyclist's, I was hot driving the bus, god only knows how they must have felt, but from what I could see, most if not all made it to the top, although maybe a little worst for wear. Being Sunday, not quite sure how many were fit for work the next day lol Geof
