Derek Uzzell Posted January 16, 2009 Share Posted January 16, 2009 An idea of a forum-member's active status can be gained by looking at their Profile and seeing when they last logged on. Some of the participants on the 2007 thread are clearly still active members: others (like the thread's originator) may well not be (or now use a different nickname). It's very doubtful that deliberately using the forum's Search facility would have identified the 2007 entry as being relevant to Joy's inquiry unless one already suspected/remembered that the subject of two filler caps had been raised previously. The only reason I came across the earlier thread was because I had idly wondered how many times the 710=OIL thing had been said before on the forum and, when I ran a Search, the "Oil Filler cap" title caught my eye. If the thread had been titled "Motorhome dilemma" or "Where does my oil go?" I wouldn't have noticed it. And, if the thread hadn't included the 710 comment, the Search wouldn't have selected it.
