Den
WE stopped at 2 aires in August, Aigue mortes and St Marie de la Mer no problems at all. The st M' takes couple hundred , we lost count or gave up.
Den
Hi Paul There is a Aire near San tropez virtually on the beach. We arrived to late in the day to find space, but it looked pretty good. We'll try again this year but much earlier in the day. You can find it in the Aires book. Any problems let me know and I'll brave the cold from the MH. Guest Tracker
The closer to the coast, like beach side, and the later in the day, like after about 3 pm, you leave it the harder it can become but there are generally places just a few miles inland that are easier to get on and more pleasant with less of a crush. robertandjean
Hi, Any coastal aires are going to be busy in August but with good timing and a bit of luck you should find a space on these: St Maxime (Varr, 83). Even in September this was very busy, infact we met a Brit coming off the aire who declared we had no chance! But arrive just after lunch, as we did, be prepared to park in middle of aire then just be ready to move as soon as a van goes. Gruissan (Aude,11). 3 large aires here so should be a space on one; best chance 4 vents aire next to marina. Leucate-Plage (Aude,11) Very large aire next to camp site. As suggested go inland and should be easier. For example Trebes, again in Aude, on canal du midi, worth a go or perhaps Trigance (Varr) or Caille (Alps-Maritimes,06) if you fancy more mountainous aspect. The aire mentioned near St Tropez is either Ramatuelle or Pampelonne/Ramatuelle, both have direct beach access. Hope this helps. Just ask if want more info.
