A 46 year old woman was found to be over twice the drink drive limit in charge of an Asda mobility scooter that she had stolen in Oldham.

She was trying to get to her home in Stretford which was over ten miles away, her intended route was from Oldham to Manchester Piccadilly and then on to Stretford, she managed to get two and a half miles into her journey when she was pulled over by the law.

She was banned from driving for 20 months and fined £240, she gave a breath test which showed a reading of 77mg the legal limit is35mg.

Heard down our way that somebody was killed by a hit and run mobility scooter driver. Dont know if there was any truth in it.

There was someone killed by a mobility scooter in St Austell, Cornwall around a year ago. It think an old guy had a seizure and ran another old guy over, i think was the general gist.

When we go out on our camping trips my cousin and his wife tag on behind us in their campervan, his wife is disabled and uses one of those disabled scooters, last year when we stayed at the Moreton campsite near Weymouth we went down to Dorchester market, my cousins wife drove into this big open fronted stall selling kids clothes.

For some reason she lost control of the machine, shot forward and then backwards demolishing the stall, the Asian stall holder was in hysterics, my cousin was also in hysterics thinking of the massive bill for damages, fortunately everything turned out all right but it was funny.
