warmstr3
Hi All, I'm after some advise, I am looking to buy a rear fiamma box for my motorhome, which is better, to have the box fitted via a bike rack or fitted straight to the rear of the van. Rayjsj
a rear mounted bike rack is very handy, and makes a good 'selling point' when trading your van on. The most important thing is that Rack and or Back box are fitted correctly to the rear of the Van, on a coacbuilt this EXTRA important, that it/they are only fitted to re-inforced strong points in the rear wall. I have Both, a fiamma 2 bike rack, and a 500 litre fiamma back box, but remember the 60kg bike rack max weight, includes Box/contents/fittings, If i don't need the box ,15mins and it's off and the rack carries the bikes. Go for both, more choice. (S/H back boxes are often for sale in MMM's 'buy and sell' section, it's where I bought mine). Good luck ! :D :D
Mel B
I'd say a bike rack with a box on it. We had a motorhome which came with a box fitted directly on to the back and it made one hell of a mess of it and took quite a bit of fixing when we removed it as we didn't use it. PJay
Hi I agree with Ravsi Go for both.We find it useful for carrying the Safari Room, and muddy boots Chairs and out door table etc. Don't forget to put a Red/White Chevron on box, i think it is req in Spain/Italy It does show up well. Easy to bolt the box to the Bike rack, and easy to remove when not required. PS DONT FORGET IT'S THERE WHEN REVERSING.
