cross-country skiing/french alps

Happy New Year to everyone. Just returned from a week's downhill skiing in the Three Valleys, planning to go again in February but this time hope to try out the new cross-country skis aswell. Has anyone any tips on resorts that have both motorhome friendly parking and good x-country trails close by? Le Grand Bornand looked ideal when we were there last January, but new territory/ideas would be very welcome. Needs to be in the French Alps within striking distance of Chambery (as we will need to collect our sons from there later) and preferably to be suitable for downhill skiing aswell. Regards, Ruth
