Is it a sensible idea to try and park with a car near the G-Mex show? If not can anybody advise us on where to park and how to get to the show? Guest roger s Posted January 9, 2006 Share Posted January 9, 2006 Parking around the GMEX Centre can be grim and may be you may wish to consider the train as there is a station next door (GMex is the old Central Station) There is quite a lot of parking in Manchester but it tends to be expensive, think there is free parking Sundays on the meters or there was. My choice would be to park at one of the stations not too far from Manchester where there is loads of parking, say Birchwood Shopping Centre and get on the train at the station there Failing that get into Eccles, park in the car park by the shopping centre and get a tram. Guest alan clare Posted January 12, 2006 Share Posted January 12, 2006 you can park at the Whitefield Metro Station (well just opposite) and catch the tram directly to G Mex. Its left (travelling east)off the M60 at junction 17 onto the A56 for 1 mile or so. Costs I think £3.50 each return.Trams are every 6 mins during day, 12 mins on Sundays.
