Motorhome Sales Beating Credit Crunch?

Hi All,

Just returned from spending a couple of days at that well known dealers at Newark (having van appraised prior to change-no problems). On Sunday really busy and people not just looking as they sold 13 vans that day. Not so busy Monday/ Tuesday but still people buying; Also found out that Swift sold over 20 of the Escape range they launched at NEC. On way home went via other large dealer, looking for new cups etc, and saw too couples collecting new 09 vans and another busy ordering new van. So yes this is just a snap shot, and no its not a scientific sample, but does seem to indicate that motorhome sales are holding up. This can only but good for all of us as dealers/manufactures closing would limit choice and competition leading we fear to higher costs for us the customers. So some good news it would seem to brighten the doom and gloom.

Before anyone starts "celebrating success" this years new 'van sales should be compared with last years and the year before to identify if there is any YOY increase.

Given that March is one of the peak sales months (start of the season and new registration plates) we should probably not get carried away...
