Mike H
Can anyone help, Please. What size Hexagon drain plug socket do I need for 2003 Ducato 2.8 JTD? Thanks. Mike.
Bill Ord
Just looked in my tool box and the socket I use is 8mm on on end and 5/8 inch on the other so I'll assume it's the 8mm without crawling under the van. A call to you Fiat dealer should settle the issue. Bill Ord
Mike H
Thanks Bill. 8 mm is too small. It's either 14mm or 17mm hexigon, I think. I don't want to buy both, as they are sealed up and I'm sure to undo the wrong one first. Thanks. Mike.
Brambles
The plug could be a variety of options. as is something which may change during production or has been replaced during a service if it was difficult to remove and got damaged. However chances are previous information is correct or sort of correct. It will be an 8mm hex key not a spanner required in centre of plug. Other option is plug also has flats like a bolt and will probably be 22 mm. Get underneath and measure is best way. 14 or 17 is unlikely as copper washer is 22mm od. Sorry I cannot be of more help. Mike H
Thanks Brambles. Just been underneath, no flats on plug. I have taken an impression with blue tack and measured across, looks like 14mm but will take with me to shop so I can match it up. It looks as if it is slightly tapered. In Halfords yesterday, they had a range of sizes from 8mm upto 17mm but only had 17mm in stock, which is too big. Thanks again. Mike.
