longtemps
I know I should know this but could somebody remind me - can you get carbon monoxide poisoning from the gas heater or oven on your van? Thanks for your help.
pagey
in a word yes, if the appliances are faulty
fred22
Yes, and you will not know much about it. Get a detector, preferably a battey operated one so that you can use it without mains hook up. Test often We will not have the heating on at night without one, not only when we are in bed but even when we are sitting watching telly. DO NOT CONFUSE WITH A SMOKE ALARM TOTALLY DIFFERENT BITS OF KIT. Don't forget your cooker can produce CO2, do not use the oven to heat your van. Brambles
it can also produce CO too.
fred22
Whoops, don't know how the "2" got in there?
colin
As fred says "get a battery one", don't try one of those stick on dots, a pet hatred of mine, CO is called the silent killer for good reason, an alarm will galvenise you into action, a dot changing colour will fool you into think you have some kind of protection, but instead you will slowly sink into uncontiousness and die without ever knowing it. enodreven
Hi, Before you rely on any form of detector, have all of your fossil fueled (gas, coal, wood etc) appliances serviced. do not rely on a detector they also go wrong nothing beats a properly serviced and maintained appliance After you have had them serviced then by all means buy and install a detector, but don't let that stop you from regular maintenance in accordance with the appliance manufacturers recommendations
