ROON Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I really enjoy my own company and going away in the van is usually of no problem to me. Just to get away from problems at home and relax is enough. But for some reason when I went away this weekend to a lovely site, I suddenly became really lonely and envious of those who have someone to help plug the electricity in, fill the water tanks, sort the toilets, change the gas bottles and who could just BE THERE for want of a better word when you look up from reading a good book or staring out on beautiful scenery. I got quite weepy. BUT ... I was on a really beautiful site recommended to me by Maggie (Chatterdog) and suddenly CarolHymer9 and her lovely husband drove up to visit me on site for a cup of coffee and a walk with my little dog. Everything was fine again. I am meeting Janine in May and then Gary and his wife later in the year..... This foru is really special. Photo below if I can get it to download is of Carol with me and she is wearing her fancy new hat.
ROON Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 FED UP. BEEN HERE BEFORE. I have just dowloaded photobucket onto my computer but when I try to attach a photo to my posting and click browse, it goes straight to my Nikon photo programme (which doesn't allow downsizing). How do I go to photobucket to get the downsized photo please? I can't find Photobucket anywhere. Computer thick, is it in C, or in programmes, or what..... I have looked everywhere for it. I have saved the photo in favourites so I can access Photobucket that way. How do I save it to my desktop too. Really sorry. I know I am going backwards on this computer thingy. :$
ROON Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 try again.... Carol's new hat ..... big white thingy one.

ROON Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 Hi Janine. Yep. I have now found it. It has gone to desktop. However, if I click on share with another website (after I bring the picture up), it says paste the following link if there is difficulty. So I have copied the link. Then I pasted the link in the browse box. Then I click on submit. and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait. Nothing happens. It doesn't even come up with download has not been successful. If I want to download a picture from Nikon fotostation it is easy to get the picture to the browse box, but of course it won't download then because the picture is too big. Joy
J9withdogs Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Do you have to 'Share with another website'? Can't you double-click it for it to appear in the Browse window? In edit: I've just been having a look at Photobucket and I don't think you have to put the link to your photo in the Browse box - copy the link and put it in your message-text. It's then a link to your picture on Photobucket, if that makes sense.
ROON Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 Thanks again Janine. I'll try that when I next get home for an hour. Hugs
Hopesy Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Nice to know you had good company when you wanted it. I too had problems loading photo's and some kind soul on here suggested this solution... e-mail them to youself and my PC will ask if you want to down size click yes, then after your post tick the attachment box , then browse through and find your e-mail and select it. Hope this helps
Hopesy Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Sorry i then select off the e-mail and save in a folder such as my pictures or similar easier to find when browsing.
PJay Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 As Joy says, in her post, how nice to have company sometime. Perhaps MMM forum could publish a sticker for members to display, so that if others members see it, they could come and say hello, (if they want to of course) It appears that some of you know one and other, would be nice for others to get to know each other? WHAT ABOUT IT ? Pauline
howie Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Don,t think you need a sticker to advertise the fact that you're a lone camper Pauline, quite easy to spot, and always go out of my way to say hello and get aquainted. Never intrusive of course, but a few kind words or offer of help can make all the difference, and as Joys says, usually gets along on her own but can get lonely at times.
J9withdogs Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 My old standby is to stand outside the van with a screwdriver in my hand and a perplexed look on my face. Never fails ;-)
howie Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Of course it never fails. Know what you,re up to, but how can any man resist that 'poor little woman' ploy. :-S
malc d Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 J9withdogs - 2009-03-17 11:29 AM My old standby is to stand outside the van with a screwdriver in my hand and a perplexed look on my face. Never fails ;-) What a great idea. If I ever go away on my own in the van I'll stand outside with a cookery book and a perplexed look. ;-)
J9withdogs Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 I'm sure if Mrs Malc sees this, she won't let you out on your own ;-)
Geof Angi Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Janine I suppose the screwdriver trick would work if you had a smile on your face, but would act as a warning to stay away if not LOL P.S. Angie and I have had to reschedule our trip to Shrewsbury until May bank holiday, so maybe we can have that coffee then, if you are not away Geof

Hymer C 9. Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Spoke to Roon today, she is off in her van again, and having some great weather so has stayed a extra night, should be back tomorrow though. Carol.
ROON Posted March 23, 2009 Author Posted March 23, 2009 Hi Hopesey, you are gonna think (know) I'm really dense.... but I right clicked on the photo and clicked send as email to send it to myself, but ..... I had my computer wiped clean a few months ago by a virus. I had that sorted and before then had Outlook Express email address. Now I have a Yahoo one. When I clicked on the send as an email to myself it automatically kept coming up as the Outlook Express address, which no longer exists of course. Try as I may, I can't change the address on my photoprogram (the one my Nikon camera automatically downloads onto when I download the photos to computer). Hope you understood that :-S Any further suggestions welcomed. Ta. Joy (PS I even tried to restart the Outlook Express mail just for photos but it won't let me do it because it believes that someone has already got that address etc. )
Patricia Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Roon have you tried sending directly from the Yahoo website? If you paste your picture into your pictures folder then you can access it from Yahoo. If all else fails either ask yahoo for help or send the photo to a friend for now and ask them to send it back (just until you sort out the problem)!
ROON Posted March 24, 2009 Author Posted March 24, 2009 Thanks Patricia, Will try that when I get home to my own computer and photo files. Grateful. Joy (You've taught me something new) :-D
ROON Posted March 28, 2009 Author Posted March 28, 2009 Well here we go again with the photo of Carol's fancy hat - bet you have all been clinging to the arms of your chairs with anticipation :-S Fingers crossed.
