How long is a piece of string?????????????????????

A lot depends on your right foot and with experience you may well find that you drive it more like a caravan than a car and fuel consumption should get better.

If you budget for about 25 mpg and hope to get up to 30 mpg you won't be far out and - as with all averages - this will be derived from the extremes of about 20 mpg at motorway speeds into a headwind to about 35 mpg gently cruising A & B roads at 35 to 40 mph.

If fuel cost is an issue there are two options - one don't buy it - two curtail your exploring distance to suit your budget - we all have to do that anyway!

Welcome to the madhouse and we looking forward to answering any other queries - and there will be a lot probably - it's a steep learning curve and cock ups and fiascos are all part of the fun.

The search facility - when it works - is a very useful tool and can often throw up so much info that it takes all day to look at, read and inwardly digest

Hello Alan,

We bought our Elddis Autoquest 100 (first registered March 2004) in June 2006 and have been very pleased with it. There's just the two of us so we use the Luton for storage as we sleep on the dinette bed.

I absolutely agree with Tracker that a lot depends on your right foot. We usually travel at around 55 to 60 mph and achieve about 30 mpg - but that does drop off if you're bombing along at 70 all the time :-)

If you have any further questions you want answering by an owner you know where to come :-)

Graham

Hi Alanw and welcome to the nut house ... I see the 'receptionist' has made himself known already! (Good evening Tracker) :D ;-)

Between 25-30 mph is around right for that size of van - we get roughly 24-25 mph with our 'van which is 7.14m long and my hubby doesn't exactly take it easy ... keep having to remind him it's a motorhome and not a racing car!

Now there I was - quietly minding everyone else's business - when along came sweet ikkle Lemonie and has another unprovoked go at me!

Why Mel? What have I ever done to you? And where's the lovely Michele when I need defending!
