Stevef
HI; Would appreciate any contribution from owners who have had there diesel engines remapped or chipped. I am considering this option to improve the torque and overall driving experience. My main question really is "do you feel it was worth it", and are there any downsides. My chassis comes out of warranty in May. Thanks in advance
kedavi
The same question was asked a day or two ago. See here: http://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=15310&posts=

Itexuk
I thought remapping was part of the Fiat fix for Judder. Mine was re mapped when it went in for 3 or 4 other recalls. I can't tell / feel much difference between old and new map.
Mel B
If you are seriously considering having it done, I'd suggest that you put your van through some rigorous testing regarding possible judder etc before going ahead. If there is even a 'hint' that there may be some judder I would think that having it chipped will well and truly bring it out! If your van works well I'd leave it alone ... IMV it's not worth the risk.
