steph
I just got mays issue of camping mag another great read. Brill campsites again. If only there were as many week ends as there are campsites in camping mag I would be a happy camper. We're off at easter and I can't wait. Tony Jones
Yes, shortage of time off is the curse of the camper-caravanner-motorhomer isn't it Steph? At least until we retire anyway. But the way things are going we won't have the money to go anywhere by then!! We're taking a few days away after Easter. but not sure where we'll go yet. We'll make it up as we go along, nowhere exotic, though! Good to see a tent camper joining in on Chatterbox by the way - it's supposed to be for everyone, but it sometimes feels like an annex to Motorhome Matters! Tony Jones
After much further discussion ("Of the "Where do YOU want to go dear?" variety) we're probably heading your way, to see the north Norfolk coast. Not sure where we'll stay yet - "cheap" is more important than "well-equipped!" Any ideas anyone? (We're not in the CC or the C&CC at the moment, just the MCC and "Forest Holidays" which is in cahoots with C&CC)) Tony & Liz
steph
Try www.huntershall.co.uk/camping. This is central norfolk so handy for where ever you want to go. I've never stayed there as it's too close to home for us but I have seen it advertised locally and I know it has a new shower/toilet block. I used to work there many moons ago and I believe it has improved since then. Just a thought.
Keithl
Tony, If you do go to the North Norfolk coast then a visit to Holkham Hall is a must. It is a fabulous stately home with what they claim is the largest collection of marble statues in (I think) Europe. The grounds are extensive with fantastic walks and they also have a private beach where you can park for a smallish fee. We're staying at the C&CC site at Sandringham for a few days in August and this is definitely on our 'to do' list again.
Clive
Be very very wary. Lots of my relatives come from Norfolk! Hunstanton, Barrowpier Hall, Little Snoring etc. Just check out the local phone book for my full name. OK C.

Tony Jones
Well, we survived Norfolk and didn't knowingly encounter any of Clive's relatives. (however, we didn't visit the zoo! :D ) Stayed at Burnham Deepdale, which provides for tents and small motorhomes (see "Snail Trail" in May issue of "another mag"). Very good site, trying to be as "green" as possible, and has cafe next door and pub nearby. Arrived late Sunday night, but that wasn't a problem to them. We visited Holkham Hall on Monday - thanks for the tip, Keith, it was very interesting - hall, gardens, lake, "bygones" museum, etc. - and good value. On Tuesday, we found Norfolk Wildlife Trust at Cley Marshes - excellent for birdwatchers, but we're only mildly into that so didn't stay long. Then trundled over for a look at at both Sheringham and Cromer (preferred the latter). On our (long!) way home on Weds, we took a very enjoyable trip round Barton Broad on a solar-powered boat (featured recently in "yet another" magazine!) and a nostalgic drive along Gt Yarmouth seafront (used to take the kids there in another lifetime). Weather was great - no rain at all until we were safely back home, yesterday! - so we've had a very enjoyable break. All named places have websites - take a look!
