Sorry, have been there years ago but don't really remember that much *-)

Could only find 2 municipal's with my GPS, " les Pins" & " le planginot" but lots of sites......

More familiar with Ile de Rae as we go there more often. it’s a lovely island with great cycling routes and should be near perfect in June...We always go high season because of kids which is obviously busy but manageable

Hi

Thanks Judgemental for your reply.

We have been to Ile de Re. We did enjoy it especially the safe cycling routes. The weather had been rough in June 2007 and the beaches were covered in seaweed which was a shame as they were good.

We like to have a change of destination each year. Possibly going down to Pau to visit my French friends and then work our way back up the coast to Ile d'oloren.

A couple of years ago we stayed on a site at Le Chateau on the Ile d'Oleron.

Site was called 'Domaine de Montravail' and wasn't far from the mainland.

( We found it in Alan Rogers guide).

Went there mid September, so low season, and fairly quiet when we went.

Would be quite happy to use it again.

There was a shop, bar and restaurant but not all open when we were there.

I should think they would have a website by now for some up to date info.
