Alpine Blackbird Sat Nav System

Not sure if anyone is interested in the final outcome but I will relay it anyway. As promised Alpine sent out a Technician to my home with a new Heads Up Unit and an upgraded model of the Sat Nav Unit.

 

Service was freindly and very efficient did not rush in and out (remember I was not paying for this home visit and replacement), technician arrived 10:00am and left at 14:00 after testing everything worked.

 

Have not had chance to try out Heads Up Unit as next holiday is 11 weeks away. However, have used the portable Sat Nav in my car and it is brilliant. As one would expect from an upgraded model it has lots of additional features that my previous unit dd not have.

 

So I do not have to throw away £1,200 after all and replace with Tom Tom, Garmin, Truckmaster etc.

 

Take my hat off to Alpine, System was out of Warranty by 1 day but this did not matter. They responded to my complaint promptly and dealt with the issue themselves rather than making me go back to the place that I purchased it.

 

Will let you know how I get on with it on the big one in Spain in Summer.
