Petra Posted May 17, 2009 Share Posted May 17, 2009 It was recently mentioned that Italy had passed new laws regarding dogs being on leads and being muzzled. We have recently returned from a month touring Southern Italy and Sicily and found that the Italian people are very dog friendly. Nowhere did we see dogs muzzled and most Italians walked their dogs on the beaches without being on leads. We had no problems whatsoever with our dog and all campsites imposed no restrictions. Dogs are even allowed into the archaological sites. Notices at the sites do say dogs must wear muzzles and be on leads however like most Southern European countries these laws are never really enforced. It is always best to carry a muzzle with you in your motorhome just in case and use common sense. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
