Guest robbie
Bought it 4 weeks ago, so:- 1) how do I get the hinged panel down above the galley ? 2)Has anyone got a redundant workshop manual or parts list for the Fiat 2.5 TD, or one that can be copied? 3)There is an engine rattle for a few seconds when starting from cold since an oil change to now 10W40.Is engine rattle common on this engine at 60,000 miles ? 4)Had fun and games with the LHD column change but spray grease helped a lot (also clutch cable)and restoring the plastic spacers on the linkage will reduce the free play by an inch. But it is still challenging at times as I coast to a stop unable to get any gear for a minute. Is there anything else I can do ? 5)What are the top 10 failing items ? Guest docted
1) There are screws at the front edge of this panel along the line of thed fixture above 2) Sorry no 3)Try a semi-synthetic oil, rattle is probably valve gear should not be a problem, most diesels are a bit noisy at start up. 4)MAke sure clutch is properly adjusted and the clutch pedal is fully to the floor. 5)Are you talking caravan or vehicle? If vehicle keep fully maintained as per manufacturers spec specially oil and cam belt change. Only problem I have had on mine was the clutch, if you saw what my driveway used to be like you would know why. The caravan part is usually reliable however in event of any problem Pete Hambilton 01772315078 knows this aspect inside out.
Guest IanStewart
2)Has anyone got a redundant workshop manual or parts list for the Fiat 2.5 TD, or one that can be copied? Have the same 2.5TD engine in my Burstner and have searched for a manual. There's only the Peter Russeck one in English, although you can get a full "Haynes type" manual in French or German. The German one is - ISBN 3-7168-1893-3.
