Guest Tracker
We're quite happy with our van and given the problems with many base vehicles - particularly Sevel 'built' (and I use the word built in it's loosest possible meaning here) - and the appalling cost cutting and cheap (they call it lightweight) materials used to prevent new vans from lasting too long - added to the dreadful lack of thought that goes into some of the impractical design 'features' such as an already poor ground clearance made worse by badly designed and positioned water tanks and waste pipes, poorly laid out and often impossible to use washrooms, the general lack of usable kitchen work top, badly designed cutlery and general storage, steps up and/or down in the middle of the van, uncomfortable so called 'lounging' areas, tables that weigh too much or, even worse, are fixed in place - to name but just a few. Added to which is the ever spiralling cost of a weekend's camping - even more so if you are not bothered about going to the 'free' entertainment that you will have paid for on entry. And all in the name of 'progress'? So no we ain't going to any more shows for the forseeable future! Disillusioned of Pembroke!

Guest Tracker
Not quite Fred - just a large dollop of reality wot landed on me 'ead and rapidly spread to me cheque writing hand! The grass ain't greener on t'other side - twas just that the viewing angle makes it look like that until you get there - and then you discover - too late - that perhaps the grass was greener where you were after all - na dyou still have to mow it anyway! Den
For the last 4 years this show has been shrinking and this year is no exception. With all that's said about Brownhills and Hymer Uk ,the Stratford show missed them. No tea and biccies in the Marquee (We did purchase some years ago and were well and truly bitten) We kept the card though to get free teas. The camping field looked so empty. Hymer uk with there marquee Missing. With the show it only took a few minutes to walk around and this is the first show that we've been too that we have only looked around once, nothing to grab you unless you want an engine upgrade........You had at least 3 to choose from.......So it's a toss up for the worst Mh show between Malvern and Stratford????????? The only good thing about the weekend is the new Wipers i fitted are excellent and we had plenty of opportunities to use them.
panagah
I really don't know what the moaning is all about? I look at it like this, Ok forget the crap weather that can't be blamed on the organisers. I went with the fun club for the second year running. I had no intention of buying anything. We were able to park our motorhome, in a field, errect an additional tent with 4 children (only two of our own) a large dog and many other people with a similar interest. I was able to walk in to one of England's if not the worlds finest town where the most famous man in the world was born in just 15 short minuets At night time I was able to join the entertainment of the fun group, or choose the entertainment of the providers, or walk in to/taxi into Stratford to take in a show. On Saturday night I was treated to a firework display of great quality sat watching in the comfort of my motorhome. In November that would of cost me £30+ alone. Yes the weather was crap, yes the show was small, but I managed to get all this entertainment in a superb location for around £30. You try finding a camp site for what I have mentioned for a similar price. I also bought a chair and a couple of useless accessories that I know i had to have but will never use. for me the shows of this kind are a great success. GJH
The weather wasn't all that bad. We arrived just before noon on Thursday and the weather was great until about 7:30 Friday evening. Had a glorious walk into town and back on Friday afternoon. OK, Saturday was wet but not too wet to look around and the evening was dry - just right for socialising with friends as panagah said. Sunday morning started wet but the rain stopped by 10:30 and the afternoon (apart from a bit of a chilly wind) was very pleasant for sitting and chatting in the sun. Den
Yes the weather did deteriorate Fri pm onwards, but the main problem with the show is over the 4 years there has been a big decline in visiting motor homes thus less people to browse and buy. So the vicious circle starts less people and then less companies and so on. This has always been one of our favorite shows for several reasons. 1---- its 45 Min's from our house. 2---- Our favorite restaurant, the Thai Boathouse in Stratford. 3---- Firework display beats most you pay to see. I could go on but they have to somehow get more sellers!!!!!!(Trade stands) I think I'm right in saying this company charge more for the plots, and this will keep them away. Thus we the punters will not have the selection. We MH owners in general like the gadgets and those bits and bobs to put on the top shelf never to be seen again. So I'm not really knocking the show but i can see the demise of this show and possibly others in the same boat.
