Randonneur
We have just been on a quick trip back to the UK. Flew Easyjet on Friday for the first time from Bordeaux to Liverpool, this is a new route and the total cost for both of us was 37 euros. Brilliant service. We came back on Monday and as we were bringing a car back to France booked on the new LD Lines Fast Ferry from Dover to Boulogne, it takes 1 hour and was £39. The service only started on Saturday and we asked the staff if they took motorhomes and yes they do, they also take a small amount of freight. We sailed on the Norman Arrow and it is brand new, beautiful craft and the staff are very helpful. If we had known about this route we would have booked it for our trip back in the motorhome in July instead of P&O. At the moment they are doing a reduced sailing schedule, I think there are 3 per day during the week and 4 on weekends but they hope to increase these as the bookings increase. Martin has just looked on their website and a 7m motorhome in July is £48 single. Highly recomended.
derek500
I booked a one way ticket (France to England) on the new fast ferry for August 13th, last month, through the Camping Club. Only £42 for a 6.7m MH.
derek500
Like some ferries they split the pet passport fee between the two crossings, so it's only £20 each way. We've booked our return crossing with Norfolkline, because they only charge for the France to UK leg. Saves a few quid.
Mel B
They seem to be taking the proverbial with the pet charging - £20 each way! It's only £30 in total with other operators. Obviously if you do what you do, then I can see the point. :-D
messerschmitt owner
it sounds good but when I looked the price was £91-131 on the days I wanted to travel whereas P&O was £75 for a 7.54m x 3.2m motorhome! I get annoyed when they charge for a pet that stays in your motorhome but the evil monster goes free and she will run round their ship ;)
