As far as I am aware it is only compulsory in Italy, but having said that we always use ours when travelling with bikes, as it gives everyone a little bit more warning and costs nothing more than a minute of your time.

 

As above, we carry 2 bikes and always have the red/white warning board attached. There are a number of different ones available, we have the one that is reflective so that it shines up in the dark in vehicles headlghts, just an extra bit of safety and they are no hassle to fit.

I am off to italy in September and I have the plastic type shown in the picture in the post above. However I have been told that you have to use the reflective type in Italy. So help please, do I need to buy the reflective type or is it ok to use the one that I have already
