jirex
I have two MTH refillable gas tanks fitted a couple of years ago. They work great and are fantastic for continental trips. Autosleeper Amethyst 1999 on Ford transit base. 70,000 miles. We are based near Southampton. At the moment my brother is touring in in 'van in the North of England and he detects a smell of gas in the gas locker. With both tank valves turned off - no smell. Turn on and some gas smell within 5 minutes. Checked with soapy water and cannot find a leak. Can anyone recommend a dealer or specialist in the Yorkshire or Midlands area he could visit for a check up. I'm aware that FES Autogas in North Wales have taken on the serviceing of MTH tanks but they are a bit off the route home. Any help would be appreciated. tonyishuk
For what its worth the boiler in my mobile home smelt very "gassy", so I called the gas engineers. They called back and asked me to check if the gas canister was empty, or near empty, which it was. Changed it, and smell went away. For some reaon it seems that the the "scent" used for making gas smell seems to concentrate in some gas canisters as they get low, and gives the impression that there is a leak. Might be worth a thought ? Rgds
