This has been covered in an earlier post about a month or so aga. Unfortunately the search facility is U/S at the moment. The person posting had used the facility for overnighting and said that it seemed reasonably secure. Perhaps the poster will come back again and give you more details.

Location: Warrington, Centre of the known World! We used the car park at Tronchetto this year and it costs 37 Euros for the first 24 hours then 32 after that. It is very easy to get onto and has electricity and other services. It is secure and does have some shade if you can get the right "pitch". It is expensive, but you are parked in Venice! It is a 2 minute walk from the water bus terminal where you can catch them to everywhere."

Hope this helps

Here I am!

We stayed for a total of two nights, timing our eparture to just before the 3rd day pice kicked in, so make a note of your arrival time. Late afternoon would be best!. We left the van to go sightseeing everyday and even the evenings The motorhome parking area is inside a barriered parking area, so you need the ticket to get out. There are security cameras covering the area,( but of course I can't actually proove they were working!), that go through to the manned pay desk inside the multi storey bit behind the open area.

We never felt threatened or ill at ease for the whole time we stayed. Our van is alarmed and tracked and the dog was in it, (she is 14 and deaf and nearly blind so that's not the best security system, but anyone looking inside wouldn't know that!). There were other vans there too with people comin and going all the time.

If you wanted, there is nothing to stop you moving your van fro the "aire" bit to the coach parking area whilst you went off for the day. It is in the same open area but closer to where the offices are and many of the drivers are with their coaches all day anyway.

It is expensive, (37 Euros for the first 24 hours then 32 after that), so some sites outside Venice might be cheaper, but you are 2 minutes walk from the waterbuses and are looking out over the lagoonsof Venice. There is also hok up at 4 amps and water and wase disposal areas.

When we went in late March the cheaper rates for booking early weren't that good, infact from memory I don't think it applied, but if you did the place where you collect your vouchers is just by the waterbus terminus, so you will pass it to get on the bus. Don't get on a water taxi though they re the little boats you see wizzing around. The "drivers" will tr to entice you abourd as you walk across the road to the terminu building. They cost the earth and the busses goright to all the main sigts anyway.
