libby
On BBC1 ONE news at 7am this morning Sunday, Simon Calder discussing travel commented that the French have introduced a new ECO friendly fuel that is likely to damage British 'tanks'. Further suggesting that repairs are costly. Anyone any clues?? Presumably he was referring to fuel tanks, what the damage may be there are no clues, most tanks are of a steel construction and pretty standard design. Did he perhaps mean fuel pipes? Does that mean then that French manufactured vehicles that we use are free from this problem? Listen to a later news programme to see if there is any more info. clay
never know he may have been talking about tanks with large bore guns attached to the front, from what i gather it may be the best way to travel through france to spain with all these so called banditos laying in wait. lol :D :D
ian81
Guess he is referring to SP95 E10 which is being introduced here. It has 10% ethanol. More information (in French) and which cars can use it is contained in the following link. http://www.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/rubrique.php3?id_rubrique=990 Won't effect most Motorhomers unless you like to try powering a diesel engine with petrol!!
