Hi All

Just wondered if anyone had ever slept overnight in a 24hr Tesco Extra carpark?

On the "Motorhome Parking" website it says it's possible but anyone had any personal experiences??

Thanks

Ned :-D

I could not do that Ned unless they give us Tesco points :-D

Come on guys, Ned isn't proposing it as a recession-busting holiday idea for goodness' sake, just somewhere reasonably safe and legal to stop over on the way to wherever you're really going - rather like an Aire, in fact!! We're motorhomers - where we park to sleep isn't where we "spend our holidays!"

Sorry Ned, haven't tried it so I can't help, but sounds a good idea if they'll let us.

Tony was right, just want to break up a longer journey, arriving about midnight and leaving at 7 the next morning.

Seemed a reasonable way to do it as too late for arriving at a site and don't need any facilities for seven hours anyway.

We aren't all retired and can't always spend leisurely days coming and going from where we want to be.

Ned

Plus what site offers hot roast chicken at 3am ??

Yeah come on guys, Ned wasn’t suggesting it Asda place to Spend your holiday,

He meant for somewhere to stay Till you found somewhere Betterware you could camp.

Any way JudgeMental I’m not sure I Carrafour your attitude. Show Lidl respect.

Regards PKC.

It used to be the case that, as long as you checked with the store, you could stay overnight at some Tescos. I seem to remember back in the dim and distant past, seeing an email response to this effect from Tesco.

There was a USRV that used to park up from time to time at our local Tesco a few years ago.

However many of their car parks are now managed by private contractors and there are time limits imposed, which the local management probably have no control over.

And by not staying on sites and paying fees it would be a 'Quicksave' (only for the oldies that one :D ) and if you got more than one van to stay with you you could form a 'Co-operative' - well PKC you started it :D :D

Pub car parks are usually Ok.

Go to the bar, ask for the manager, tell him you want to have a meal and a pint and then sleep overnight and go at about 9.00 am. Make sure you make them understand you have a toilet, water etc and are self contained. I find a simple name and address card makes them feel more comfortable.

How delightfully quaint. Why not wait outside and hold your cap out and do a little jig when any one enters said hostelry........ It should not take long to accrue enough shekels for a night on a campsite you poor things.

I've seen truckers parked up in our local 24hr Asda, I would presume they had got permission from the duty manager.

I have however stayed in a Harvester car park with permission from the manager, and they requested that I make a sonation to their charity box on the counter. I had a very good nights sleep! If you are travelling and are literally pulling up to sleep - does the view really matter?
